Watamu Snake park

Sometimes a visit to a snake park helps to overcome childhood traumatas and nightmares and to uncover lies and misbelieves.
What I learned during this recent visit to a snake park in Kenya:
a) Snakes can look wonderful, without being dangerous

b) not all green snakes are Green Mambas - this for instance looks like a green mamba, but is in reality a harmless green Housesnake - you could also keep it as a pet, without putting yourself and your housemates in danger.
c) The sand boa is a harmless little snake, too. Therefore, from now on, I will enjoy Kenya's beaches without any trace of fear. d) Snakes are extremely nice to hold, and not as slippery as one might expect
e) They didnt even attempt to bite

So what? I guess the ride on the scooter after the visit to the park was more dangerous than the snakes
But if I could choose whether to keep snakes or butterflies as pets in my flat, I would still go for the butterflies. Despite their short lifespan.
