rescuing lifes

For all those who still believe that development workers are doing nothing but saving lives, I can only assure that I myself revised that ambition some months ago, when i started working for CARE, a big international development agency. Nevertheless we are saving at least some lifes from time to time, although not, as in the case of last weekend, the lifes of human beings...

On our trip to Berbera, a coastal town in Somaliland, a rather rare species waited eagerly to be rescued from speeding cars: Tortoises.


my own attempt to remove this heavy thing from the road was a miserable failure...

... fortunately enough some stronger persons were part of the team: Ian from Halotrust, rescuing the tortoise...

... and its little friend!
